XRP coin can now be spent at 4,500 shops online

XRP coin users can now spend their digital wealth at 4,500 shops online. This is after one of the largest crypto payment processors added support for the coin.

Although the XRP coin has largely been associated with financial institutions and users having few places to spend the coin, CoinGate, the payment processor, is out to turn this around. In a blogpost, the payment processor noted that:

XRP coin owners can now use it as a means of payment at more than 4,500 shops online! Whether you want to purchase a VPN, video game or anything else, you are more than welcome…We open up opportunities for XRP to reach far outside its own ecosystem into bigger markets. At the same time, it allows the community to utilize the token in more ways than ever before.

The more than 4,500 merchants include stores specializing in crypto goods and services e.g cryptoshopper which sells crypto merchandise, those that deal with VPN and hosting eg, webpundits which deals with RDP servers, those that deal with editing and publishing (bubok), organic foods (eichenhain), embroidery patches and flags (patchion) and those dealing with adult content.

XRP coin users join others on CoinGate who enjoy instant settlement in ETH, euros or BTC. Apart from facilitating payments using the XRP coin, the payment processor also provides XRP purchases on their platform using mobile balance, bank transfer, Skrill, Neteller, or credit cards.

CoinGate continued to note that:

XRP can become a huge player in the payments industry, and not only for businesses. We are here to facilitate and accelerate the adoption of all cryptocurrencies out there that offer valid solutions.

With a transaction cost of $0.00001 do you think the XRP coin is better placed in the payment industry than other cryptos?
